Patch release | Sage VIP Premier Release 6.6b: Botswana, Malawi, Tanzania and Uganda

A new patch file now available for Sage VIP Premier Release 6.6b on the Sage Portal, released 15 July 2026.

This patch file replaces the original patch file released on 10 July 2026 for Sage VIP Premier. The patch file for Sage VIP Classic remains the same.

The original patch file  included new tax tables for Uganda for 2026/2027, however needed to revert back to the 2025/2026 tax tables:

Following engagement with the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) regarding the proposed 2026/2027 tax amendments, URA has clarified that its earlier confirmation was issued in error.

Only a portion of the proposed amendments have been approved. The Income Tax Amendment Bill, which includes the proposed changes to the resident tax tables, and the Excise Duty Amendment Bill were both returned by the President and have therefore not been approved.

As a result, the propo/sed new tax rates are not yet effective, and we must revert to the 2025/2026 tax rates until further notice.

The patch includes the following changes:

  • Botswana (Premier & Classic)
    • Updated 2026/2027 tax tables, effective 1 July 2026.
  • Uganda (Premier Only)
    • Reverted tax tables for 2025/2026
  • Tanzania (Premier Only)
    • New IDRAS statutory reports introduced: IDRAS Employee PAYE Submission and IDRAS SDL Employee Upload
    • Reports generate the required CSV files for submission to the TRA's Integrated Domestic Revenue Administration System (IDRAS).
  • Malawi (Premier only)
    • Resolved Oracle Banking Digital Experience (OBDX) issues relating to:
      • Debit Account Number leading zeros.
      • Mandatory Funding TRF Number.
      • Correct CSV output prefix (IFMISSP).

Please note:

  • The patch file is for payroll systems on Release 6.6b only 

How to download and install the patch file

Important: It’s always recommended to perform a full system backup before extracting any new program files to your application.

  1. Access the Sage Portal. 
  2. Select Product Updates.
  3. Select your payroll product.
  4. Select Release 6.6b.
  5. Scroll down and locate Patch File 26.07.15 in the Additional Downloads section.
  6. Download the patch file for either 32-bit or 64-bit systems.
  7. Extract the contents of the .ZIP file to your Release 6.6b system.
  8. Overwrite existing files

Q: Who should install the patch file?

  • User who installed the patch file released on 10 July 2026 (Patch file 26.07.10) previously
  • Users who haven't installed the original patch file, but have Botswana, Tanzania and/or Malawi

Q: Is there a new patch file for Sage VIP Classic users?

No, Classic only includes Botswana as tax country. The patch file available on the Sage Portal wasn't changed for Classic, only Premier.

Q: How do I know my Uganda company is using the correct tax  tables?

For Uganda users, the Tax File Version on The Africa Tax Module linking screen will be 202603.
