Which email address are you sending the files? 

The submission process by running the UIF Submit report and emailing the UIF Submission file according to the electronic declaration specification, is the one method mention in the auto reply:

As per the payroll message when generating the UIF electronic submission file, the email must be sent to [email protected]:

During the UIF submission process, you can select that the system generate an automatic email to be sent (using your email system defined in-app), the email will also be sent to [email protected], and a copy will be sent to the UIF Contact as defined on the Basic Company Information screen.

If you use the above method, then all should be in order - we know that they would send an email to confirm the submission, however if there are any concerns on the process, you would be able to confirm it with the Department of Employment and Labour.

For UIF declarations, is there any way to encrypt the data before sending it via email to the Declarations email address, or would the file simply be rejected by the Department of Labour?

Hi Wynando, 

The file layout provided by the Department of Labour does not allow encryption. It is a CSV file with source codes and values, and cannot be changed.

I have for more than 10 years been submitting Electronic Payroll Declarations from VIP Classic to the email address [email protected], but recently I am receiving a response email from DOL stating the email address is [email protected] (without the s). Which is it now, are both accepted or the one I used for many years or this new one?

What is the right email address to submit eDecs?

• The UIF accepts emails to either [email protected] or [email protected].
• It is imperative that your subject line only reads “Declarations” or “Declaration”. Any other narrative will not be picked up by the automated system/workflow and will result in your declaration being ignored.
