How to create a Sage Drive account and share a company file for the first time

Sage Drive had been announced for a while and now, it is finally here. Many Sage 50 users will be happy with this new feature, especially users who usually have to transfer their Sage 50 company backups or company files from a computer to another with USB drives or via email. Also customers who use Dropbox with Sage 50 will finally have a service that is supported and recommended by Sage. Now, all you have to do is to upload you Sage 50 company file on Sage Drive and you will have access to your company from wherever you are in the world as long as you have an Internet connection.

But first; how do you create an account on Sage Drive? Here are the steps you need to follow:

  • Open your Sage 50 company file as usual, and then click File, Sage Drive, Share Company…, then Yes for the next prompt.
  • For the first time, you need to create an account.
  • Click Sign up now.

  • Create your account by entering your information in the new window and following the instructions.


 

  • After clicking on "Create", you will receive an e-mail to complete the activation of your Sage Drive account. So, you have to go into your mailbox, open the e-mail from Sage and click on the activation link. 

  • Once the account has been confirmed, you are now ready to log in:


 


  • Confirm the information for the company file you want to share.
  • Click on Upload and Share.


Now all you need is Sage 50 Accounting installed and an Internet connection to access your data.
