Which language does Sage 50 EFT speaks? And which currency does it take?

1 minute read time.

As you might know already Sage 50 Accounting Canada is a bilingual program. You can install it in either French or English. And after installation you can switch back and forth from one language to the other when a company database is open. Sage 50 Accounting allows to invoice, print or email customers depending on the client’s language (English or French). Sage 50 Accounting Canada is independent of Windows operating system language when switching between languages. But this is not the case of Sage 50 EFT.

EFT for Sage 50 is dependent on Windows operating system for the language to use. Sage 50 EFT program will have the same language as Windows. If Windows is in French then upon installation Sage 50 EFT will be in French as well. It cannot switch back and forth like Sage 50 Accounting. To have Sage 50 EFT in English, the default language in Windows has to be English.

If you need to change Windows default language click here to see instructions on Microsoft website.

As with the language, EFT takes also its currency from Windows operating system. If Windows has Euro setup as default currency, then EFT will show Euro (€) currency sign. To change it, make sure to have Canadian Dollar as default currency or follow instructions here.

Thanks

  • Hi there Danielle,

We have had an issue where Windows language and EFT display language are the same but still EFT prints in another language. Example you have French langue setup in Windows as in EFT. So in EFT you can see everything in French but when printing EFT prints in English.

That issue is environmental. So the answer to your question is there is no definitive fix for now.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

How come that even if EFT is installed in French the report still print with English headings?

I thought this issue was over when I installed French version of the reports. Every time I updated EFT over the years, reports still print  in English.

Any definitive update for this issue?

    Thans for reading
