In the Sage50 2021 in the Payables module the Goods Received Notes icon is not active and in the receivables module the Delivery Order icon is not active. Does anyone know why this is?

I believe you need to select this. In the Home window go to Set-up, then Settings, then Company, then click on Features. That is where you can enter a tick mark on the items you want to show.
Thanks, I checked and the Goods Received Notes is ticked, but I cannot Create a Goods Received Note,
The Delivery Orders for Customers is ticked but greyed out and I cannot create a delivery order.

Hi - I don't use this but have found out that if you are in the 'Enhanced View' of Main window then you can see where you can enter the Goods Received Notes.
It does require more linking of accounts to use this.
Thanks again. I am in the enhanced view and I do have the icon, but when I click on it to create a goods received note it will not open a new screen. It appears the icon is inactive.
Hi again - I have tried different scenarios such as multi-user, sysadmin, having purchase module open etc and unable to have it go into the inactive mode. Maybe there are others here who would know what the problem is. Sorry that I was not able to help you out here.
Not being able to do Goods Received or Delivery Orders bring a couple of reasons come to mind.
1) Do you have a subscription that includes them?
2) You say the new screen will not open but is there an icon on the windows task bar that indicates a window opened but you can't see it. If so, immediately hit Alt-Spacebar and see if a menu shows up. If it does hit M for Move. When the menu shows at the top right corner of the screen, after you hit M, use the left and down arrows to move the window back on screen and hit Enter to stop the move. You should be ok after that.
3) Have you tried opening the Sales Module and changing the Transaction to Delivery Order (top left under the toolbar and menu)? Do you get an error message or does it change to the Delivery Order data entry screen?
Thanks very much for your response.
I know this is very hard to see, but here is a screenshot. In the second row, the icon on the far right is for Delivery Orders. But when I click on it nothing happens. I cannot open it. When I hit the down arrow, there are three menu choices...Create a Delivery Order, Find Delivery Order and Adjust Deilivery Order. I can open Find a Delivery Order and Adjust a Delivery Order, but I cannot open Create a Delivery Order. If I call up a Sales Order and try to Convert it to Delivery Order, all the information is greyed out and it can not be converted to a delivery order. I am at a loss as to how to fix this.

Did you look into this? Setup, Settings, Receivables, Linked Accounts, Delivery Orders.
Based on your response to Smith and Co, it looks like you may have ignored the suggestion.
I just tested by removing the accounts and it clearly asks for them, so it may not be the issue. However, check to see if you can enter any.
If not then this then brings us back to
Do you have a subscription that includes them?
You will have to check out your invoice or more likely call Sage to confirm.
I appreciate you trying.
I'm an instructor and we use the 2021 student version of Sage for the course I am teaching. There is no invoice, since it is free for 14 months. The text is also 2021 version and requires entries to be processed for goods received/delivered. There is nothing in the text which indicates that we have to activate those icons. The linked accounts are there, so I am still at a loss on this issue.
Hi Eric
I am instructor who has students who use the Student Version of Sage. The student version of Sage does not give students access to the "Sage50Cloud" features of Sage. Goods received/delivered is one of the Sage50Cloud features.
I hope this helps!
Thanks!
Well at least that explains it to a point. The only thing that I don't understand is why I can open a window for Find Goods Delivered/Received and Adjust Goods Delivered/Received but not Create Godds Delivered/Receive.Oh well, now I just have to tell my students to ignore those transactions in the textbook and to convert the purchase/sales orders directly to invoices. Then I will need to modify the solution files to reflect that change. Lots of fun...LOL
Hi all. Confirming this, and have forwarded this thread onto our R&D for follow up as this was reported back in July 2021. The ask then was to have better messaging surrounding the limitations of access to cloud features of Sage 50 CA in the student version of the software.
Thanks everyone for your input on this matter. It appears now that this is an issue that needs to be resolved by the Sage technical team.
...Eric
