In Reports I can't open payable report to print summary or detail reports
In Reports I can't open payable report to print summary or detail reports
Also unable to edit or create in the Vendors
This sounds like your permissions do not include Accounts Payable. Verify your permissions. You will need to sign on as sysadmin to make these changes if necessary.
Received an update yesterday and rectified the error
Apparently I was wrong. Can't print vendors aged list. How do I verify my permissions?
We also had our yearend. The adjusting entries did not effect the accounts payable ledgers
If you have access to Sage 50 using the sysadmin user then you will have to sign in using that user. From the home screen > Setup > Set Up Users > enter the sysadmin password > click on OK > Highlight the user name and email address that is having problems with Accounts Payable > click on Modify > you will now have the full Profile for this user. Verify the status for Payables and Payments. for full rights you should have Allow Access, Ledger and Journals should be Modify and Reports with a greyed out checkmark under View. The sysadmin user must have Full Accounting Rights - a check box on the left side middle of screen.
When all of this is correct the way it should be for your company, I would then check the linked accounts, From the Home Screen > Setup > Settings > Payables > Linked Accounts. Be sure the five accounts showing are the correct accounts for your Company.
The third thing that could be affecting your entries would be in the Payables Module. Are you using Purchase Invoices? with Payment Method as Pay Later, Cash, or Cheque? Are you using the Payments to Pay Purchase Invoices or Make Other Payment. Each variable will make a difference as to how your entries will record the activity. Knowing your process to record purchases and payments may give a clue as to the concerns you are having.
The permissions are correct.
Linked accounts are correct,
Yes Purchase invoices, then payments (Pay Purchase Invoices), I do not use Make Other Payment.
It was working fine until entering the adjusting entries from the accountant. Used the receivables account for a few adjusting entries. There were no adjust entries affecting the payables module.
I am at a loss as to why this is happening. There is an data inconsistency in the A/R Balance but nothing in the AP Balance.
Are the data inconsistencies in A/R due to the year end entries being made to the A/R Account directly and not to the individual customer accounts?
As to the other issues with the A/P module and reports, I am out of suggestions other than to suggest trying to get Sage Support involved. This is unusual.
Yes the entries were posted directly to the customers accounts
Yes very unusual.
Thank you for your time and patience. I will call Sage Support and see if they have an answer to the payables problem
As Alwyn said, the behaviour you are describing is not normal.
Sometimes it is worthwhile to tell us what does happen when you expect something different.
For example, you have a problem with a report. You went to Reports, Payables, Vendor Aged... and then what happened? Did you get a dialog? Where you able to hit Ok after making selections or using the settings already there? Did you get an icon on the task bar like you normally would but didn't see the report on screen? Did you get any error messages that we might be able to use to help you?
Also unable to edit or create in the Vendors
Does this mean you cannot change a vendor phone number or other details? Or that you cannot create a new vendor? Did you get any error messages that we might be able to use to help you?
This the payables only. Not affecting receivables module.
From reports I am able to print a vendor aged summary, I am unable to print and aged overdue payables report. When I try it freezes the program and I have shut it down through the task manager.
I am also unable to edit, create or trash any vendor information. When I try this also freezes the program
Thank you, that is helpful.
For the report issue, you can sometimes fix this when running the report, you can change the report Template from <Last used report options> to <Default report options> and then selection what you want and hit Ok.
If the Vendor editing issue is causing both problems, the report options may not fix it. In this case, you will have to talk with Tech Support.
Also find the some of the reports are under the icon but they are blank and you can't make the expand to sho on the computer
This may just mean the reports are off screen. When you have run a report that should have shown on screen, if it doesn't, immediately hit Alt-Spacebar, then M for Move.
If the menu shows at the top right of the screen, use the Down and Left Arrow keys to move the report screen down and to the left to bring it back on screen.
It did work for one report but the payables aged detail report does not come up. Freezes the program and unable to do anything
I have two companies and this is only happening on the one. I am going to remove the adjusting journal entries to see if that fixes the issue, then re-enter one at time and test the module
I would only do that on a copy of the file for testing or at least get a good backup of the file first.
I will do both
Backed up and then made a copy. It still is not printing the report and is freezing the program
Have you tried changing the printer driver for your reports to another one eg. MS Print to PDF driver, save the settings and try it, then change it back to your original and try again? I believe these are the steps in one of the Knowledgebase articles about printing report problems.
The report won't even come up. As soon as I hit the Aged Overdue Payables the program freezes. Can't even get the the print portion
The printer settings for reports is under Setup, Reports & Forms, Reports. You don't need to open the report to change the printer.
I have changed the printer. Went to reports, payables then select Aged Overdue Payables. It blinks and freezes the program. Have to go into Task Manager to close the program and re-open.
