How to 'upload' a cloud company after downloading it and doing a restore.

SUGGESTED

My client has Sage Cloud. I downloaded it onto my desktop to do a restore (trying out a scenario which worked), did the restore and verified last JE nbr. Now I want to bring that back into the cloud and am unable to do that. Why is there no 'upload' back into cloud?

I think you must be talking about Sage Drive. The thing to remember about the Sage Drive service is that the main data always stays on the computer where it was uploaded from. The Sage Drive service is only a bidirectional (sending and receiving) synchronizing copying service. By downloading a company from Sage Drive you are downloading a copy of the clients data file from Sage Drive. At the same time, when you post your JE's on the downloaded file it is copying the file back into the cloud in realtime so that the original uploader of the file receives the changes when you close the downloaded file out on your system.

Sage Drive can only be used in single user mode at this time over the internet connection.

Sage Drive is ideal for use when you are away from the "Office" to be able to use the data at "Home" without needing to manually restore a backup.

The idea behind Sage Drive is that when you are away from the primary data location, you just simply open the file on "Computer 4 - Home", work on the file and then close it. The changes will eventually be synced back to the primary data location "Computer 1 - Office" via the internet. No need to go through a backup and restore procedure.

"Computer 1" could also be a server

Computer 4 - Home can also be an accountant that has the Sage 50 Canadian Accountants Edition
