client cannot open sage file

my client cannot currently open the sage files I send her because she did not updated her sage.. if she updates without payroll will she be able to open the files from my accountants edition

she doesnt want to see the payroll side of it - just run financial reports

    As long as the company files you send are not a newer Version (2017.1, 2017.2, 2018.1, etc) and not a higher 'Edition' (Pro, Premium, Quantum) your client should be able to open the copy or restore a backup.

    If your client has a newer Version the software will convert them.
