Where are the data files located? On a server or your workstation? Did all computers reboot after the power failure (I assume not)?
When you logged back in after the failure, did you log in as sysadmin in single user mode?
If not, try it. If so and you got that message, try logging in in multi-user mode.
If you get the message that you are already logged in as sysadmin, then try a different username in multi-user mode.
Then go back and try sysadmin in single-user mode.
Every time you exit the program, please leave about 20-30 seconds before you attempt to log in again.
If that doesn't work, then make sure everyone is out of Sage 50 and go to the computer where the files are located, open the Task Manager and find the mysqld.exe process and kill it.
You can just reboot the computer where the data files are located but that is not always a good solution if it is a heavily used server and it usually takes more time than the options above. This is why I gave you the other options above.
Here is an article 10082 with the details of what Richard is suggesting.
hope this helps
Jason,
Can you correct the link? It just comes back to this page.
Also, can you update that article to mention logging in as sysadmin in single-user mode as Solution 1 before listing anything more technical. In my experience, including two weeks ago, this is the easiest solution in many cases. For these issues, it's just an aberrant entry in tuserlog that didn't get deleted because Sage 50 was not closed normally.
Thanks
Hey Richard S. Ridings, please now try the article 10082 link again
Hi Erzsi,
That is weird. When I click on it, I get this page. When I hover my mouse over it, I can see it is supposed to go to support.na.sage.com.... in a popup tooltip, but at the bottom of the page in the status bar it shows this page's URL on Sage City.
I'll try to link to KB Article 10082 and see if it works from outside the building.
Hope this works!
OK, my link works for me. Do your's and Jason's links work for you? Does mine?
OK found it. I checked out the HTML of this page and found both you and Jason put the link in the Title instead of the URL box.

You are right, thanks for mentioning that, I've re-edited the links.
thanks for the suggestion Richard, I have updated the article.
Weird that both me and Erzsi make the same mistake.
Thanks
