Which table/field stores the transaction comments/description and JE# in Sage 50 Quantum Accounting (Release 2019.3)?
I am referring to the comment column and JE# values when you run a General Ledger report.

For current fiscal year it is tjourent.sComment and tjourent.lId respectively. For last year the table is tjently, same fields. Have a look at the DataDict.pdf in the Manuals folder of your program installation folder.
Thanks Richard for the reply.
I do have data dictionary to refer to and i did check the tables, however, the fields you mentioned does not have data that are shown in the reports.
For e.g. lId is a number filed and usually is in 4 digit number, however, in report the the Journal Entry ID starts with J and for each year the ID is reset from 1.
Similarly, the sComment column is blank for the records
Any help?
Thanks,
Avinash
The journal ID number does start at 1 each year and is a number. For display the programmers concatenate the J at the front.
I can't see how the comment is blank on all entries based on the info you have provided. Your image shows corrections and that text is always in the sComment field.
It is possible that you are showing line comments on your report but you have not indicated that is the comment you are looking for. However, if it is, then it is in the tjentact table (tjentlya for last year).
Thanks a lot Richard. The issue resolved. I was querying for a wrong date range in DB and in Sage :)
The fields do have the information as you mentioned.
Glad you got what you needed. Most of the time, if you don't see what you think you should see, check your dates.
