Changing the email address associated with the Sysadmin login

Question

I am looking for a solution for changing the email address that is associated with the sysadmin login. The email address is no longer current and the system will not let me change it.

Did you look at the setup for users? There is an email box right in there like Agate suggested. 
 Are you talking about your Sage ID?

Hi wtupnorth: 
 In order to access the sysadmin password you must select Setup, Setup Users & Roles, enter your sysadmin password and Modify User.

Hi Trish, thanks for reaching out. Please see the steps on KB 105704 (to be updated for version 2022 shortly) on how to change the sysadmin Sage ID email address in the shared company (I assume the file is shared onto Remote Data Access?). It may depend on which version of the software you're using if you're trying to access the below: 
 Resolution 
 
 Sage 50 2021.2 and later* (including version 2022) 
 
 Contact Customer Support 
 
 Sage 50 2021.1 
 
 Open the shared company in single-user mode, with the sysadmin user, and logged in with the file owner&rsquo;s Sage account email address 
 Go to File / Save a Copy . You will get a message saying: This copy will not be a shared company 
 Click OK 
 Select a location on your computer and give a name to this new file then click Save 
 Go to File / Remote Data Access and click Stop Sharing . Then click Yes when asked if you want to continue 
 Click OK when you get the confirmation that this company file is no longer shared 
 Re-enter the sysadmin password 
 Go to File / Open Company . Click Yes in the next message 
 Select the &ldquo;copy&rdquo; file that you created in step 2 and 3 and open it 
 Go to Setup / Set Up Users . Select the sysadmin user and click Modify User 
 You will now be able to enter a different email address 
 Click OK , then Close 
 Go to File / Remote Data Access and click Share Company 
 Click the Share button, then Get Started , then Yes, I&rsquo;m the right person 
 Log in with the new sysadmin&rsquo;s Sage ID. Click Finish , then Save 
 If you get an error message saying: Setup for Remote Data Access failed , close Sage 50, re-open the shared company, and go back to step 12 
 After the company is shared again, the other users will have to download the newly shared file on their computer 
 
 Sage 50 2021.0 and earlier or if sysadmin credentials are lost 
 
 Contact Customer Support, as support utilities will be needed

To Change Sysadmin email you need follow steps above in the Resolution steps 1-9 - then to go to Help/About Sage 50 - Support Info - Re-connect this company to an email. you will receive a warning that you are not using sysadmin email hit OK, it will take you to login screen, hit cancel, then it will take you to Screen asking if you are the right person - Hit Yes, then on next screen hit Confirm - it will make you confirm you are replacing the sysadmin email. You may need to remove other users if email you are trying to use is an existing user.
