I cannot open my company and the backups are nowhere to be found

SUGGESTED

I need to do ONE last Invoice before I do my taxes and close the company.. of course this is when I lost everything. I click on SAGE then it opens the folder and for some reason the only file there is a shortcut which doesn't work. I don't recall that it was a shortcut so I honestly don't know what is going on. I searched and searched, I just can't seem to find the files. Even the backups are not there. I can redo all my invoices not a problem but all the expenses will take me forever. What am I supposed to do? Any tips on how I can search for this?

Do you use One Drive or some other storage device where you may put the data? Have you used the Search feature in Windows 10 using the option to search in all storage drives for the backup names or company names you may have used. Backups will have a .cab file extension whereas your data will have a data folder ending in .SAJ and the startup file will have a file extension of .SAI. I am sure the data is somewhere on your hard drive or another storage device.

If you need further assistance we are available for a fee to find your data or backup(s).

I found .saj and .sai but both do not work... my backups are there but how do I open them if the actual company will not open?

You need to create a folder on the root drive C:. Name the folder Sage 50 Data. Copy both the .saj folder and the .sai file to the new folder Sage 50 Data. Try opening the company from the new folder. Double click on the .sai file. Your company should open. If not restore a backup and store your company in the Sage 50 Data folder with a new name. If you cannot find the restore menu you will need to open the sample company and use the restore menu within it. Before you restore though when you are in the sample company go to the View menu and Select Company Window at Startup. This will give you the option of restoring at any time when you first open Sage 50.
