Sage50 desktop being discontinued?

I just received a call from Sage saying that I need to transfer to Sage Cloud because our Sage 50 Pro Accounting Canadian version 2022.2 is going to be discontinued and not supported anymore. Is this true or was it just a sales call trying to get us to upgrade and pay more for Sage Cloud?

Hi Mrf,

Thanks for reaching out. Happy to follow up on this for you, believe I found the account ending 400xxxx687 for VPW using your Sage City profile email. I don't see any interactions since July 2020 for this particular account that has your Sage 50 Pro edition and active service plan (until 7/10/2022). Do you know the name of who you spoke with?

Hi Erzsi, No I didn't get the person's name but he did have my email address and I asked him to send me the information because I am not the person authorized to make any decisions on the plan. I haven't received any email.
