Hello, I have not be able to back up my data. I am unable to back up either of my companies. When I switch to single user mode and start the backup all it does is sits there for a minute and then disappears and closes Sage! I have tried backing up to a different drive as well as a USB stick and it does the same for everything. I'm not even getting an error code. Anyone else have this happen to them? Or have any idea's as to how to fix this?

I have done everything you suggested and it still does not work. Yes that box appears when I start the back up but when I enter the date and the locations it just sits there for a minute and then disappears.

ok, so you do get the box and  able to enter date and location. After the box disappeared, did you open up the location you used to see if anything is there?

Another suggestion is to enter    .cab    in your search box at bottom of monitor to see all the locations that it is showing in and see if that is appearing as your backup. It almost seems like it is an automatic backup so once it has completed it just shuts down without any verfication etc. for you to see.

Yeah I have checked everywhere on my computer but can not find anything. I also searched the .cab and come up with nothing. But I'm thinking its my computer, I was able to do the backup on another computer. Now I really have no idea what's happening with my computer. Thank you for you help and suggestions

    Hi Michele,

Have you done all your Windows updates? Try running Sage 50 as Administrator at launch before doing a backup. KB 12998 provides details on this in solution II.

Large company databases can run into issues backing up, so that might be something to review. Feel free to reach out to support using the in-program chat link in the Help menu or on www.sage.com/resources under the Contact section for Canada and Sage 50 Accounting- Canadian Edition.

    In case you're using RDA:

    • It is recommended to set up a automatic daily backup when using the Remote Data Access service. See KB 15741: How to enable automatic backup?.
