    Hi Shirley:

What actual bank accounts do you deal with? E.G. (TD Chequing CAD, TD Chequing USD) If you have only a Canadian bank account and are receiving USD funds you would DR Canadian Bank for $130.00, CR Realized Exchange $30.00, CR Revenue/Accounts Receivable $100.00. With multi-currency setup in Sage 50 and if you have a Canadian US bank account you would DR Canadian US Bank $100.00(USD), CR Revenue/Accounts Receivable $100.00(USD), Realized/Unrealized Gain/Loss is tabulated separately. I hope this answers your question!

Hi Agate, Thanks a lot for your help. Actually, I have multi-currency setup in Sage 50, and it is a general journey entry as below,

I got USD38.01 in my USD bank account, and the CAD50 is out from CAD bank account. So how can I book the JE? It seems it cannot calculate by Sage.

    Hi Shirley:

It appears as if you are missing your currency exchange button. Your US bank account in Sage 50 may not be setup as an actual US bank account but rather a Canadian bank account and/or possibly you have not setup to track for exchange and rounding differences.

    Hi Agate,

Where I can find the guide for setting up the real US bank account in Sage?

    Hi Shirley:

It appears as if you have set things up correctly. I think the issue is with the journal entry itself. When you choose your US bank GL account number their should be a box to appear above to choose the currency from CAD to USD and then the currency exchange rate window will appear, on the next line if you choose the Canadian bank account GL number change the currency to CAD for that line. If you look at the report for entry before posting it should be correct. You may however, have to change the currency rate to reflect the actual amount of the currency exchange. Hope this solves your issue!

Maybe try the entry in USD instead of CAD, see if that works.  Then enter the conversion rate based on what the CAD amount is.
