File Structure for Sage 50 Canada & what it does

SOLVED

I've been using Sage for over a year now, but I don't really understand the file structure and how it works.

I've recently encountered a problem I'm not sure how to deal with. I seem to have lost some data in my Sage file and I started to restore various backups looking for the missing data. After quite a few of these attempts, I suspected there was some file over-writing going on and I started wondering if this kind of procedure could cause me to lose my real data file. At this point I'm VERY concerned and would appreciate some guidance from someone who understands this.

    Hi Ed:

If there is some file over-writing it is usually from restoring a backup data file over your current data file. When restoring it is customary to give the restored data file a slightly different name if you are reviewing past data files. Adjusted transactions will create a reversing entry and an adjusted entry in which Sage 50 tracks via journal entries(audit trail). A reversal of an entry removes it entirely. If this does not answer your question please provide more details about what you are dealing with.
