one drive save locations

can someone tell me why sage isnt able to use cloud storage? especially now that every single file is cloud storage if you use onedrive, there is not a single folder on any computer I own that saves only locally, which, with the new 2024.0 update now I cant save sage into any folder even a newly made one on the desktop without it screwing up. for being such a big program its stuck in the 90s with its technology. its another reason I am thinking of changing the company over to another accounting software.

  • I don't know if this forum message from MS website answers all your questions.  However, each database requires a database manager program.  For MySQL (the database in Sage 50 Canadian) that manager program is owned and updated by Oracle.  Your best answer will come from them.

The article I linked to indicates that even MS owned and programed databases (MS Access and SQL Server) do not work as you wish even with their own cloud storage.  Note the term "storage".  They are not technically locations for use as indicated in the linked article.
