Sage 50 Pro ... Win 10 Pro 64b ... Office Pro 2019 32b ... ms Access 32b ... Mysql ODBC 32b ... ODBC connection read-only appears to work fine to retrieve customer data ... however ... any attempt to make a read/write connection to make corrections/changes to the customer table results in Sage 50 restarting within 2 minutes of the connection which in turn closes the ODBC connection

The question is it possible to update certain tables via ODBC? Obviously, certain tables shouldn't be touched ... AND ... certain fields also shouldn't be touched. BUT ...

Currently have not found any way to make corrections to the customer tables without doing manual edits, specifically, needing to change the format of data in the NAME field, update addresses and or contacts plus use the special fields for additional links within Access (ie Access Customer ID) 

Sage Pro 50 provides a method of importing NEW customer records via CSV formatted files, but this import feature doesn't appear to allow CHANGING existing customer records.
