Importing transactions

We use a custom made application that stores our invoices.  Is there a way to import these transactions?  The files can be converted to CSV or Microsoft Excel.

Is there an application that do the import?

Are there templates available showing how to do this?

Were are using Sage 50 Canadian 2024.1 version

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

RJH

    Hi  ,

Thanks for reaching out. If your files can be converted to CSV or Microsoft Excel, you're on the right track. Sage 50 Canadian Edition supports importing transactions through properly formatted .CSV and .IMP files.

For your specific need, while direct import from Excel isn't supported, converting your invoices to CSV format and then importing them into Sage 50 is a viable approach. The key is to ensure that your CSV files match the format required by Sage 50 for a successful import. You mentioned looking for an application or templates for this process. While Sage 50 primarily deals with .IMP file formats for transaction imports, the article "How to import transactions into Sage 50 using a .IMP file format" provides detailed guidance on preparing your data for import, including the structure and format of the import files.

This process involves exporting your data to CSV, adjusting the CSV files to meet Sage 50's format requirements, and then importing them into your Sage 50 company. For transactions, you might find it helpful to reference "Importing miscellaneous transactions from a text file into Sage 50-Canadian Edition" for more specific instructions on how to proceed with the import. Additionally, for a broader range of data imports (such as customers, vendors, employees, inventory/services, and more), Sage 50 offers guidance on formatting and importing CSV files for various types of records.

I recommend checking out the articles linked for detailed steps and tips on successfully importing your transactions.

If you encounter any challenges during this process or need further assistance, don't hesitate to reach out to Sage support or consult a qualified Sage business partner for personalized guidance.

    Warm Regards,
