Reports Quantities

SOLVED

Why aren't there any quantity totals in reports?

Most of the inventory reports do not total the quantity column; Inventory Summary, Inventory Quantity and Inventory Statistics in particular. Also the Customer Sales Detail reports do not total the quantity column.

This would be extremely useful, and much quicker than having to export these reports into excel in order to get a quick quantity total. I have had four occasions within the last week alone where this feature would have been useful.

Also, in the above mentioned reports I am always having to format the number of decimals points for quantity within excel. I have been all over Sage City to find out how and where to change this within Sage but I have not had any luck. All of us users would use different places of decimals so it would be nice for each of us to be able to set our reporting quantity to the decimal place we need to see in these reports.

Thank you in advance for your time and effort to answer me.

    Hi Cathy J.

If you feel quantity totals are needed in those reports that you mentioned, you can go to Help in the menu bar, Contact Sage and Give Us Feedback.

The original idea for users to export report to excel is that Sage 50 provides reports that fit most of the need of a normal business.  If tailored report is needed, customer will have the option to export the report to excel and customize it to whatever they would like to.  We also has add-on services called intelligence reporting for customizable Microsoft® Excel® - based business accounting reports.  For more information about this add-on, you can follow the link below:

Sorry to inform you that we have options changing currency decimal places between 0 to 2, but no setting for quantity.  You will still need to export it to excel and do your own customization.  Again,  please let our R&D know that by going to Help in the menu bar, Contact Sage and Give Us Feedback.

The inventory reports are geared for single item stats because users mainly want to see  the performance of one item over another. An electronics shop is not interested in lumping together the sales of TVs with the sales of transitors.... would not make sense. So rather creating a default report with meaningless stats the developers have taken the cautious route and have let the user decide on modifying the report for quanitity totals. But i suppose if one is running a fruit stand it would be advantageous to have total quantities.
