Emailing attachments with sales invoices

SUGGESTED

Does anyone know if it's possible to add an attachment when sending a customer their sales invoice? I don't think it is but I thought I'd ask.

    SUGGESTED

    Hi Canadiantaxman.ca

Alternative is to print your invoice to pdf file thru a free virtual pdf printer first.  Then, you will have the freedom to attach other documents together with your invoice to your email.

    Hope this helps

Thanks. That's what my client been doing but I was wondering if she could do it another way. I primarily use QuickBooks and it can be done in that software.

    Hi CanadianTaxman

For Sage 50, this is the current workaround.

You can go to Help, Contact Sage 50, Send us your feedback and let our R&D department knows this suggesiton.

    Hope this helps

Keith, short of a release document, can you cite three examples of 'feedback' suggestions that were implemented in the 2014 release

I am interested in how often Sage goes thru these feedbacks/suggestions/etc.

Two weeks ago I have inputted my idea/suggestion on ideascale and also thru feedback regarding Document Management System and encouraged others to 'like' the idea but so far you won't see it yet as it is still 'waiting for approval from moderator'. The ideascale had 71 'recent ideas' when I inputted this idea and still has 71 recent ideas today. If you go back to when any ideas was approved by moderator it would be over a month ago as of today. There are colored tabs that does indicate if the idea has been implemented or in the works of being implemented..

    Marc,

If you turn off your auto send/receive, then you can open the email when it gets to your outbox and add any attachment you want.  Then hit send and reactivate your send/receive.

Edit: changed inbox to outbox - thanks Randy, I hate it when I do that!

The Sage 50 feedbacks/suggestions site is monitored on a regular basis, and then ideas are forwarded to the Product Management team on a monthly basis. They will decide and discuss which idea can be pushed up, which idea needs to be considered further and which idea should be replied with other suggestions.  Unfortunately, the review and discussion process has not been happening regularly enough. After the January and February peak season, the process should be speeded up.  Thank you for your comments.

Richard, I think you meant 'Outbox'.  If you send an email from Sage 50 with Outlook send / receive turned off, it will be waiting in your Outbox.

If you email it to yourself, you can leave send / receive turned on, and you can forward it from your inbox.

And I'll give you three suggestions that have been implemented:

    1.  Someone cluless PHB from Sage in Europe has changed the name of three, completely different and incompatible software packages. that are sold in three different, non-overlapping and incompatible markets, to 'Sage 50' for... marketing reasons.  Classic, and Epic.

    2.  Perhaps it was a suggestion from Oracle that got the technical team at Sage moved away from the ancient 3.51 MySQL ODBC driver, to the 5.2 version.   They didn't go all in, and write their install to check for an exact match, so it won't install the right 5.2(a) version if you already have MySQL installed.  Maybe in 2017.

    3.  Someone must have suggested "Easier installs" so some of the 'click next' windows were removed.  We can't print any information about a 'project' onto any document, even using the frighteningly outdated version of Crystal Reports, so there's an opportunity to do some copy-and-paste to use up those six saved mouse clicks on the first of the next sixty thousand documents we'll process.
