Cant make my custom invoice do what i need

Hello,

I need to be putting in a different description for each invoice i make. It seems that my "decription" in my print preview is my "item number" on the create invoice screen.
I can't seem to find a place where i can just at a description.

Also Why does my create an invoice screen look nothing like the custom invoice form i have created?? It would be most helpful if i could actually see the fields I have created instead of field I will never use.

Can anyone help me with these issues.. I am beyond frustrated with this.

Thanks

The data entry screen and the printout are not at all connected in terms of design.  They are completely independent.  The whole WYSIWYG concept does not apply.

You cannot redesign the data entry screen but you can customise it from the View menu to show or not show columns.  You cannot add new fields.

On the printout you can add all the new labels you want but they are what they say...text boxes.  They are not fields you are pulling from the database.

I assume your description column is hidden on the data entry screen so use the Customise Journal options to show it again.  When you put something in it, as long as the column is showing on the form when you print, it will show up there.  Go into the design of your printed form and check out the columns by selecting the Columns button.  Checkmarks indicate the column shows  up.

    Hope this helps

    HI Richard,

I appreciate you reply and thank you for your help. I have found Sage to difficult to navigate in the end and went back to Quickbooks where I haven't had any problems setting up what I need.

    Thanks
