If you would like to import an excel file to Sage 50, you will need to follow certain format in order for Sage 50 to accept it.

I have a question on this.  It appears to me that the import is only for "records" such as customer, inventory, employees.  What if I wanted to import "transactions" into sage that are in an excel file.  For instance, I have a client who has downloaded mastercard transactions for the month.  Is there some way to import these "transactions" into SAGE?

Hi Susan Q,

You will need to create a .imp file and follow the format provided from the dev-import.pdf document after you download and install the SDK

You can download the SDK from the link below:

After installation, please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 Accounting SDK\Manuals and you will see the dev-import.pdf for the .imp file format.

Bank transactions that have been downloaded in Sage 50 format are designed to import into the bank reconciliation module.

(rather than as new transactions as in a personal finance product such as Quicken).
