Printing the open screen

I have just completed a very long and complicated Bank Reconciliation only to discover that someone made changes to my file in my absence. It would be quickest to record a couple days work and re-do the very long and complicated Bank Rec. Is it possible to print the Bank Reconciliation window exactly the way it is displayed before it is Posted? I mean the Transactions screen with all the checkmarks exactly the way It is? It would much easier to duplicate the Reconciliation in this manner.

It's possible to click the 'Save' button, and come back to the reconciliation of that account where you left off, when you next open the reconciliation window.

When closing the reconciliation window, the program will ask you if you want to save the reconciliation.

Saving is separate from 'posting' the reconciliation, and you can uncheck and change the transactions in a 'saved' reconciliation later.

It works sort of like saving an invoice as a 'recurring' transaction, and almost exactly like saving a spreadsheet.

Also you can print almost any screen in Windows by holding Alt and pressing the Print-screen key.   This appears to do nothing, but actually copies the currently open window to the 'clipboard'.  If you then open Word, Wordpad, or Paint, you can paste (control-v) the contents of the clipboard into something you can save.   (I say 'almost', because some programs have copy-protected documents that you can't copy)

I hope that helps, please post back.

Additional to Randy's suggestions, you can also print the bank reconciliation report before posting it. Save it as Randy says and then print the bank rec report - full detail.

Thanks for your replies - I've figured it out! Using the Print Screen function, pasting to MS Paint and printing from there did the trick.

Thanks RandyW! - I never knew that it was actually working - no wonder I would get the odd message that my clipboard is quite full and whether to keep the content. Rather annoying that Windows do not have a pop-up indicating something to let you know the 'print screen' was accepted.

Thanks AmyGurl, I hadn't used this report, but it, should be in all Editions, the online help usually mentions when it isn't.

    The Reconciliation Transactions Detail Report

The Account Reconciliation report displays a list all the transactions that you have recorded for a specific bank or credit card account. The report also shows the date each transaction was entered, whether the transaction is cleared or outstanding, the source (cheque or general journal number), and the dollar amount.

To view this report, open the Report Centre in the Home window, select Banking, and then Reconciliation Transactions Detail. Click Display.
