Can I restore from accountant's addition to earlier version?

I just want to confirm whether I can do something involving 2 different versions of Simply.    I have just taken over the books for a new client.  The existing bookkeeping company uses the 2015 accountant's edition.  I am currently using 2013 Pro.  Would I be able to do a restore from a backup file from their accountant's edition or will that only work if the years were the same?

    At this point it doesn't matter if they created a premium vs pro as I can't do the restore anyway as our years are different. I guess the only thing I can do is ask them for a print out of all the GL entries along with a current balance sheet and income statement so I can enter the amounts in history mode as I'll have to create a new file from scratch.
