Historical

SUGGESTED

I just purchased Sage. My fiscal year end was April 30. When entering the historical information, which I assume will be June, I cannot change the historical date to June. The historical date is May 1, 2017. I don't want to post anything in the month of June as it is now July and all my history will be June.
I hope someone knows what I am talking about and can help.
Thanks,
Kelly

Sorry, it should say I don't want to post anything in the month of May, not June.

    KATA:
When first setting up Sage 50 Canadian you have to enter all outstanding information from prior to the first fiscal year as historical data. This will assist in getting the opening balances correct so that when you enter your current year data for May, June and onward, your numbers should be accurately recorded.

Hey KATA , see this KB on how to exit history mode. If you've finished entering all information up to April 30th (and linked your accounts), which is set at your year end under Setup > Settings > Company > Information, then (make a backup) access the History menu to exit history mode. After this you can go to Maintenance > Create new fiscal year, you'll have an option to create May 1, 2017 - April 30th, 2018, which will allow transactions in May/June etc.
