How to Convert from Sage50 2015 to Sage50 2019

SUGGESTED

I downloaded the trial version of 2015 and converted my files from 2007.  Now my trial has ended, but instead I purchased Sage50 2019

My files won't open now because it says that the version is obsolete?  How do I fix this problem and open my converted 2015 files in 2019 version?

    Hi LGaudette:

If you have a current Sage 50 2015 backup of your data, all you would have to do is restore you company data in your latest 2019 version of Sage 50. If you do not have a backup which is highly unlikely you can un-install your trial version of 2015 and re-install it. Once installed create a backup of your data. From there just restore the backup to your latest version of Sage 2019.

    Hope this helps!

I will try this.  I know that my trial version of 2015 ended and it wants me to activate it to use it. Hopefully I can re download and it will work

    Hi LGaudette:

Before you re-install Sage 50 2015, check to see if you have a backup. Generally, after you update your company from 2007 to 2015 you are asked if you would like to backup when you exit out of Sage 50. Look for any backup files with your company name and a .cab extension when you last exited Sage 50 2015.

Good Luck! If not please respond!

    Hi

All you have to do just use Sage 2019 open your 2015 data, in upgrade wizard, do the backup, and finish conversion.

2007 data format is a SDB and SDW file

2015 data format is a SAJ folder and SAI file

So you just need locate your file and use 2019 version open it.

    Hope this helps

I have tried that and it doesn't work Disappointed it says that the file was created with a version that is obsolete.  So I tried downloading the 2015.3 like it suggested again, but it says that my trial has ended and that I need to activate it to use it.  Thing is I don't want to purchase it again.  So I tried installing on a different computer and saved the backup, but it tells me that the file is an older version now and I need to install quantum.

    Hi LGaudette:

From what you have mentioned it appears you either started with Simply Enterprise (now Quantum) or when it was upgraded to Sage 2015.3 you chose the wrong type (Simply (Pro), Premium, Enterprise (Quantum)) when updating to Sage 2015.3. It appears you may have to start over again from your original backup from 2007. Look at your 2007 version to see which package you purchased and when upgrading keep it as the same type (Pro, Premium, Quantum). If you do not want to go this route we may be able to help you to either change the version you have presently which will cost you money or ask Sage to remedy your data which will cost you money.

Let us know how you make out! Good luck!

I had Simplu Accounting 2007 and I upgraded with Sage50 2015 Pro.  Now I have tried to do this on a different computer and I was able to access one of the companies which was great, but the main company it now says that it is from a different country? I don't get the other error though, but I still can't access it.  I have never used any other edition except Canadian

    Hi LGaudette:

I am glad you were able to move forward with one of your company files. For the other issue you have I would probably get in touch with Sage since you just purchased 2019.

    Good luck!

    Hi

if you have message about different country, 1. data is damaged, 2. data is US version.

if is case 1, you can check if you have backups that can convert

since one did converted ok, your environment is good, now is a data issue

you can also call Sage support 1 888 522 2722 for assistance.
