2019 version Sage 50 CA installation

SOLVED

Hi,

I just install 2019 version Sage 50 CA. After finished the installament, i noticed some files status in the download folder looks strange: it is not marked in green but in blue circle. Looks like not yet ready.  The file is: ib_logfile, ibdata ,  ibtmp , etc. I am wondering if there is any problem.

Thanks for your help

What exactly is the download folder called?  Those files don't typically "download" for installation separately.

The only file that would normally be in the Downloads folder on your system would be the original installation program you downloaded.

The files you are indicating should be in a folder ending in *.saj.  The icon on those files in my system is just a file icon not related to any program.

Are we just talking about you downloading the software, installing the software and then trying to use it for the first time?  Or was there something else you did?

    Hi Richard,

    Thanks for your reply!

i think it could because of i saved the download docs under one drive. So Yesterday I uninstall the software and reinstall and saved the docs in my hard drive.

The installation is good, but when i try to restore company data from backup. It didn't work. I can't open our company data.

The screen shows: The company has been converted to Sage 50 Premium Accounting. You can no longer open it with this version of Sage 50. But i  did access from the desktop icon (Sage 50 Premium Accounting  Version 2019).

I hope you can help me to resolve the problem.

    Thank you

Uninstalling the software in the case of data files located on OneDrive is not necessary.  You just needed to move the files to your hard drive.  Accessing Sage 50 files from anywhere besides your computer or network (or Sage Drive), is not a good idea.  I would not even run it from a memory stick.  Using an external hard drive plugged into  your computer may work but I would test it first and make sure you have a lot of extra space available.

Because you didn't tell me which version you installed, I can't say why you are getting the error.  If you go to Help, About Sage 50 .... (that menu option tells you the version), then you will see which version and release you are running.  If it says Pro, then that is why you are not able to open the Premium file.

If you think you reinstalled Premium and it says Pro, then you likely got the Serial/Key Code combination incorrect when you activated the program.  Under Help, About...., Support Info you can see your activation information to confirm if your codes are correct.

's correct, I'll add that if you do find that you have a Pro edition installed because of the codes used. No need to uninstall, just go to Help > Upgrade my Sage 50 and input the codes for the premium edition and the features for that higher edition will be unlocked.
