Unable to open files error message "You have opened a company using Remote Data Access. You cannot convert this company file because you are not in single-user mode."

SOLVED

I keep getting this error message when I try to open clients files "You have opened a company using Remote Data Access.  You cannot convert this company file because you are not in single-user mode."  However I never use anything but single user mode.  What now?

    I was able to fix this problem. I opened Sage50 directly and not the client file icon. I then went to connect to a shared company. It gave me the option to choose my company and then it downloaded it. This seems to work, but I don't want to have to do this every time I need to access the file. I have another company file set up where I can just click on it from my desktop each time and it works no prob. Maybe that one is set up differently?
