What version of connection manager is needed for Sage 50 2023.0?
does this version come with the 2023 upgrade?
Yes, the Connection Manager is always installed with Sage 50 on each machine during a full installation.
When you run the Server-only installation on a server, the data entry part of Sage 50 is not installed but the Connection Manager is installed to allow for hosting of company files on the server but not doing the data entry on it.
I thought so ... just wanted to check. I'm planning on installing the 2023 today.
Follow-up question for the 2023.3 update: does the connection manager version change? (We've been burned on this before re the Server only version, and I don't have access to that server, so need to know if my boss needs to be here or not.)
For a server, you'll want to use this download (updated June 20th) that includes the 2023.2 full product version, and then select "Advanced" during the install process which will update the Connection Manager version.
Page 21 of the what's new documentation confirms this:
You'll for sure need to do this if you are getting the Error: "The latest version of the Connection Manager is not installed on the database server, <server name>."
See the video on this article for further steps on How to install the Sage 50 Connection Manager on the server
Hope this helps!
Warm Regards,
Erzsi
Version 12 is still the same Connection Manager version for 2023.2. I did not upgrade my server and it is the same Connection Manager as I have on my workstation. I just tested a file and it opens fine.
