Sage 50 Accounting 2023 file type conflict

I downloaded the Sage 50 Accountant 2023 product update but now whenever I try to open any of my Sage company data files I get a message saying "cannot open, file type is Sage Quantum". I have never had this issue with any past version updates, plus I thought the Sage Accountant version opens any type of Sage files anyway.

Anyone else have this issue and if so, what did you do about it?

When you installed, did it ask for a serial number, etc.?

If so, you likely downloaded the full program and may have entered the wrong serial number.

You can check the name on the icon and on the splash screen when the program starts it will tell you which version you are running.

If this is correct, you likely have to uninstall and reinstall using the correct serial number.
