Sage50 Accounting Remote Access - Unable to Open Company on Second Device?

Hi all, 

Up until a couple of weeks ago remote access was working fine - we have our company file that was created on our work desktop, meanwhile for convenience I was accessing the company remotely through my laptop. Suddenly it stopped working on my laptop and I am getting the following error message (it's fine on desktop): 

" You cannot open this company. It was created in a newer version or is incompatible with your Sage 50 solution. Please contact the file owner/creator for a different version or contact Sage to upgrade." 

I am the file owner and have no idea what to do, I contacted Sage and both apps are up to date, both are operating on the same Windows updates and all. What's the next step here? How can I access my company file remotely on my laptop again? Thank you!

    Hi Courtney:

    Usually this error comes up because Sage 50 has not been updated to the same version on each computer. You may have to stop sharing and reshare the data from the desktop computer. When working on the laptop you may want to use a different user name than the desktop computer, which means another different email address for the other user even though you are the only user.
