Print to PDF stopped working overnight

SUGGESTED

Until yesterday, everything worked fine. Today, I get the error message "Not enough memory for printing or invalid printer setup"  I have tons of memoy and disk space and no changes to srinter configuration.

I have always used the Adobe PDF printer but tried the Microsot print to PDF and Microsoft XPS Document Writer - same error message. Same results for all form - Invoices, Quotes ...

There was a recent MS Windows update which I rolled back - same problem.

    Hi  ,

Apologies for the delayed reply, hope that you already came across these details. The "Not enough memory for printing or invalid printer setup" error can be quite a nuisance, especially since you took the proactive step of rolling back a recent Windows update.

Given the various solutions tried, it's possible that the problem lies with the Print Spooler or there might be an issue with the printer drivers after the update. Here are some specific steps from the Sage knowledgebase that might help resolve your issue:

    1. Restart the Print Spooler:

      • Go to the Windows Control Panel.
      • Select Administrative Tools, then Services.
      • Right-click the Print Spooler service and select Restart. If this option is unavailable, double-click Print Spooler in the service list and then Stop and Start the service.
    2. Check Printer Installation:

      • Uninstall and then reinstall the printer, ensuring it is set up correctly. This might involve contacting an IT technician if you're not comfortable doing it yourself.
    3. Check Printer Selection in Sage 50:

      • Go to Setup, then Reports & Forms in Sage 50.
      • Select the form you are trying to print.
      • Change the printer to a new one or to Microsoft XPS Document Writer or another PDF writer to see if it solves the issue.
    4. Update or Reinstall PDF Printer Drivers:

      • Ensure that your PDF printer drivers are up to date.
      • If necessary, uninstall and reinstall the PDF printer.

If none of these solutions work, it may be worthwhile to check if the error also occurs when trying to print from the Sample company in Sage 50. This can help determine if the issue is with your company file or the Sage 50 application itself.

Lastly, if your printer is a network printer, try using a local printer to see if that makes a difference.

I hope one of these solutions resolves your printing issue. If this helps, please mark it as verified :)

    Warm Regards,
