Deploying Sage 50 Accounting with SCCM

SUGGESTED

Hi all,

I've been tasked with deploying Sage 50 Accounting 2013 to a number of branch offices. We use Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager for software deployment. Does anyone know if it's possible to deploy Sage 50 with SCCM?

I did a search and found a post about installing Simply Accounting 2012 with SCCM and the consensus seemed to be that it wasn't possible without repackaging the app. Is that still true for 2013?

    Hi,

Sage 50 Canadian Edition 2013 is not possible to repackage using Flexera Admin Studio or even AppV 4 or 5 but on SCCM there's a way to let the users start the installation and at the end will work but the most important thing of this is that the User will have to start the installation process by themselfs and with large corporations is NOT an option to let them do this because of corporate rules and IT teams will be seen sometimes as Miracle deppartments so we have to investigate how to solve this issues.

Creating a response file .ISS will not work or register all the info like the serial number to proceed with the install. Some people with the UK version said that they can install it using the PeachTree version of Sage 50. www.reddit.com/.../sage_50_peachtree_2013_silent_install_discovered

But the Canadian version does not drop the same .INI files they refer on this article. So my answer as packager is not possible to automate a silent installation of Sage 50.

Creating an MST from the MSI that is called from the main setup.exe will give you an error but adding the property ISSETUPDRIVEN=1  to that MSI will allow you to create an MST, then using a command like the one below it supposed to be functional as I packaged another Sage application that is Sales logix and the same procedure worked fine but not for SAGE 50.

    setup.exe /S /v"TRANSFORMS="SA2013.mst" /l*vx \"c:\Logs\Sage.log" /qn"

This command line cost me hours to be found and at the end it didn't work for this produt. I would like to open a ticket for the Sage Support to see what they do to install this product on more than 500 machines. They will allow all the 500 users to let them install it manually ??

Any other ideas will be appreciated.

    Kind regards.
