Hi everyone,
I'm new to Sage City/accounting in general, and my computer knowledge only goes so far. Here is my dilemma:
When I open my Sage 50 Accounting Pro, I am told I need to download and install the latest update (July 2013). I do this, following through the installation process, until everything seems fine, the update is downloaded, and I open my Sage and carry on with my day's work. When I am finished, I backup my stuff, and close the program. I return the next day to start work, and when I open my Sage, I get the SAME notification prompting me to download and install the July 2013 update. It will not allow me to open my saved work from the day before because it has been saved in the updated version of the software, and apparently each new day I am running on the older version??? So I go through all the steps of downloading and installing again, and then I can do my work.
I have been doing this every day for weeks!!!! I phoned Sage, and spoke to multiple reps who have directed me to the knowledge base, which I have scoured already, and nothing they have sent me to comes close to my issue. I phoned again this morning saying, hey, seems I really need help here apart from a link to the knowledge base, and they said my question could go to tech support for $150 dollars. Which is so far beyond my budget.
Any ideas or help would me greatly greatly appreciated! It's gotten to the point where I simply leave my sage open and running 24/7 which is not a good idea I'm sure!
Just to be clear, the rep I spoke to this morning suggested that the download is coming through but the install is not happening, so I need to locate the download on my computer and follow through the install. This is NOT the case, as we discovered because of course I am installing the update, and when I open my sage after the update, I am using the newest version (release 3) as stated in my "help-about" tab. And, when I select my company file the next day to open, it has been saved under the updated version.
Thank you all so much for your time and insight! Hope to hear soon,
Staci
