How to connect Sage 50 from workstation to server for data storage and retrieval?

SOLVED

Just downloaded and installed the 2014 trial edition yesterday - Connection Manager server components only on a Windows 2008 R2 Server following the instructions on this Sage page https://support.na.sage.com/selfservice/viewdocument.do?noCount=true&externalId=10101&sliceId=1&cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&isLoadPublishedVer=&docTypeID=DT_Article&ViewedDocsListHelper=com.kanisa.apps.common.BaseViewedDocsListHelperImpl, and the full Sage 50 Accounting on a workstation but there is no special instructions on how Sage 50 on a workstation can link to a server.

After going through all the settings and options on the menu of Sage 50 on the client machine, still could not see any settings to make workstations communicate with server. We shall have three PCs using Sage 50 Accounting as client machines and they need to share all the data on the server. That's why I have downloaded Sage 50 to see if it really work in our office.

Can someone confirm to me if Sage 50 Accounting does work on a client-server environment, and show me how to set it up with detailed steps, please? A link to an instruction document would be fine but please do not link to a generic page because I have gone through a lot of reading on Sage site already.

Thank you!

    Hi Jackrp,

This is the step to setup Sage 50 Accounting to work on Terminal Server:

How do I setup Sage 50 Accounting to work on Terminal Server - Windows Server 2008? - KB10533

If it is only a server-workstation network setting, you can follow the link below to setup the shared folder in the server to which you put your data:

    Hope this helps
