Sage 50 Pro 2015 locks up creating a new company.

I  have run sample data with no problem.  On a Mac with Parallels and Vista.   When I try to create a new company it totally locks up with a spinning circle.  I have disabled firewalls with no result.

I called tech support prior to purchasing and was assured it would run on parallels.  Any help is appreciated.

    Hi ArianaYoda,

We apologize for the misinformation.  Sage 50 is never tested on Mar or any Parallel systems.  Therefore, we cannot guarantee it will work properly under that type of environment.

For your question, to the best of my knowledge, when you are using Parallels, the default location of the new company is documents which is shared with the Mac documents folder and that confuses Sage 50 and it can't find the location - \\.psf

Please make sure you change to valid location path like c:\Sage 50 data when you try to create a new company.

    Hope this helps.

The screen that opens on startup and has the option Create New Company does not have any place to select a path.  The following screen Locks up at entering company address info - when I press enter it goes into the overnight process - there is no message surprisingly as I would assume during the process for creating the new files it would soon be obvious that there is an issue with the file location.  Can you advise where I would go to change the default file location.

Or if there is somewhere a blank company file that I can put in a usable location.   As it has no problem accessing the sample data it would seem that once there is a path somewhere that it can read there is no problem running the program.

I am assuming from  your answer that it is impossible to use this on a network and have the company data on a network drive - would that be correct?

This is the statement I do not understand   Please make sure you change to valid location path like c:\Sage 50 data when you try to create a new company.

I can find no where to change to a valid path when trying to create a new company.    This is in reply to a previous thread that seems to have disappeared.
