Converting from Simply Accounting Pro 2010 to Sage 50

SOLVED

Background:
I need to upgrade to Sage 50 from Simply Accounting Pro 2010.  I had to do a complete reinstall on my computer and lost the Simply Accounting Pro 2010 program files.  So I can no longer open up my files, but I do have the files and the back-ups.

I have tried to download Simply Accounting Pro 2010 and 2012 but cannot complete the download because Sage no longer provides an activation code for these downloads.  I was told by Sage that they no longer support Simply Accounting Pro 2010.  As a result, I was forced to upgrade to Sage 50.

A Sage rep told me on the phone that I should buy Sage 50 First Step, which I did; however, the program will not convert my files from Simply Accounting Pro 2010.  Afterwards, I came across a post in this forum about Simply Accounting 2009 conversion to Sage 50 that suggested I need to buy the Sage 50 Pro version of the program in order to be able to convert my Simply Accounting Pro 2010 files.

Questions:
Since my database files are Simply Accounting Pro does this mean I have to upgrade to Sage 50 Pro?  Specifically, will my Simply Accounting Pro 2010 files convert to Sage 50 Pro 2015 or do I need to buy a older version of Sage 50 Pro? is there a free trial version for Sage 50 PRO, not just Sage 50?

If buying Sage 50 Pro 2015 (or an older version) doesn't work, what options do I have to convert the data?

Sage sales or support should be able to tell you which Edition you will need to convert the 2010 Pro files.

I believe it will be the Pro Edition as a minimum.  The First Step Edition used to be called Entrepreneur and cannot convert 'higher' Edition files.

Sage 50 will convert data files from much older versions than 2010.

Thank you.  This provided the confirmation I needed.

I downloaded the Trial version of Sage 50 Pro to ensure it would convert my Simply Accounting Pro 2010 files - which it did, right back to 2004!

Also, when I called Sage to purchase Sage 50 Pro, they kindly and readily credited me the $99 I paid for the Sage 50 First Step against my purchase of Sage 50 Pro.  I couldn't have asked for more.
