Background:
I need to upgrade to Sage 50 from Simply Accounting Pro 2010. I had to do a complete reinstall on my computer and lost the Simply Accounting Pro 2010 program files. So I can no longer open up my files, but I do have the files and the back-ups.
I have tried to download Simply Accounting Pro 2010 and 2012 but cannot complete the download because Sage no longer provides an activation code for these downloads. I was told by Sage that they no longer support Simply Accounting Pro 2010. As a result, I was forced to upgrade to Sage 50.
A Sage rep told me on the phone that I should buy Sage 50 First Step, which I did; however, the program will not convert my files from Simply Accounting Pro 2010. Afterwards, I came across a post in this forum about Simply Accounting 2009 conversion to Sage 50 that suggested I need to buy the Sage 50 Pro version of the program in order to be able to convert my Simply Accounting Pro 2010 files.
Questions:
Since my database files are Simply Accounting Pro does this mean I have to upgrade to Sage 50 Pro? Specifically, will my Simply Accounting Pro 2010 files convert to Sage 50 Pro 2015 or do I need to buy a older version of Sage 50 Pro? is there a free trial version for Sage 50 PRO, not just Sage 50?
If buying Sage 50 Pro 2015 (or an older version) doesn't work, what options do I have to convert the data?
