Payroll Taxes

When dealing with payroll, how accurate are the automated taxes? I use a spreadsheet as well to calculate payroll; CPP & EI are always accurate, but the taxes are always a little off compared to the T4032 tables I use - and I am using the 2023 Tables. So I've always adjusted Sage to match my spread sheet and I'm wondering if I should leave the automated taxes and adjust my spreadsheet?

There is a publication on the CRA website which provides all of the formulas. However, for most people these are too complex and lengthy to try to reproduce. That is why I depend on the programmers at Sage.

There is an issue with some changes that take place later in the year depending on salary level which Sage programmed one way and the CRA programmed a different way but the end result is correct for both when we get to the final pay processing. This minor discrepancy was drawn to Sage's attention and they have verified the results to be correct.
