Cannot open Payroll Cheque Run - Notice attached

SUGGESTED

Hello

I have two companies and for the one, I suddenly cannot open the Payroll Cheque Run to do a final payroll for 2023.

A NOTICE BOX comes up with this:

"Some Essential linked accounts for this module are underfined.  Enter them before entering a transaction here "

The one company is fine and is set up identical.  Please Help!     Thanks in advance, Mary

    Hi  ,

Thank you for reaching out with this question. I see that you chatted with support earlier today and they provided the article "Some essential linked accounts for this module are undefined," which typically arises when payroll accounts aren't properly linked or certain employee tax tables are incorrectly set up.

    To address this:

    1. Check Linked Accounts: Navigate to Setup in Sage, then select Wizards and Linked Accounts. Follow the steps in the wizard to ensure all necessary accounts, especially those related to payroll, are correctly linked.

    2. Review Employee Tax Tables: Since your business is based in Ontario, ensure that all your employees are set up with the correct Ontario tax tables. Go to Maintenance, choose Update Employee Claims, and verify the provincial tax tables for each employee. For each employee record that needs updating, go to the Taxes tab and select the appropriate province in the Tax Table dropdown menu. Remember to save your changes.

    3. Additional Steps for Specific Regions: If your business also employs individuals from regions like Québec or the North-West Territories, make sure their specific tax requirements (like Tax (Que), QPP, QHSF, QPIP for Québec) are properly linked in the Payroll, Linked Accounts, and Taxes sections.

Running an Employee Summary report can also be helpful to double-check the tax tables applied to your employees. If you're uncertain about which employee's data might be causing the issue, you can use the find function (CTRL + F) in the report for a more detailed search.

If the problem persists or you require further assistance, please feel free to contact our support team for more detailed help. Happy holidays!

    Warm Regards,
