changing payroll income names

SUGGESTED

Hi everyone. Is it possible to re-order the income names in the payroll module (Sage 50 Canada 2024)? I know how to change the names and add incomes etc.. I'm not looking for assistance with that. We have quite a few income categories in our company and the way they are currently set up is quite a mess. There is no logical order. So when we're doing payroll, it's annoying to scroll through all the categories, searching for the ones we want. However, I'm worried changing the names will affect our historical reports. Ideally it would be great if we could leave "income 1" as what it is currently, but somehow just move it down the row so it doesn't appear first. I'm guessing this isn't possible, but wanted to put it out there in case anyone has any suggestions. Thanks!!

    Hi  ,

Thank you for your question regarding the re-ordering of income names in the Sage 50 Canada 2024 payroll module. From the details you’ve provided and the screenshot, it appears that while you can rename certain non-default income categories, there isn’t a straightforward method to re-order them within the software interface.

Thank you so much for the reply! Do you know if I rename some non-default accounts, will it affect our history? For example, if I have an existing income called "travel time" that we have used in the past, and I change it to "subsistence" for 2024, if I pull a payroll report from say 2 years ago, will historical "travel time" now appear as "subsistence" even it was used for travel time in a prior period?
