How do we add taxable benefit before submitting T4?

    Hi  ,

    Thank you for your inquiry about adding taxable benefits before submitting T4 slips.

    To add a taxable benefit, such as Group RRSP or MSP, before generating your T4s, you can follow these steps in Sage 50 Canada:

    1. Create the benefit in the system:

      • Navigate to Setup, Settings, Payroll, Incomes.
      • Rename the next available income to the benefit you're adding (e.g., RRSP).
      • Change the type to Benefit and ensure the correct tax columns are checked.
    2. Link the benefit to the appropriate accounts:

      • Go to Setup, Settings, Payroll, Linked Accounts, Incomes.
      • Link the new benefit to the wages account or another appropriate expense account.
    3. Enable the benefit for each employee:

      • Open each employee record, go to the Income tab, and find the newly created benefit.
      • Check the Use box next to the benefit and enter the default amount for it.
    4. Adjust any existing benefits if necessary:
