    Hi  ,

Thanks for reaching out. To print out an RL-1 for a Quebec vendor with a T4A, please follow these steps in Sage 50 Canada:

    1. Ensure you have a transmitter number which starts with "NP" followed by 6 digits. If you don't have one, you can use six zeros (000000) or contact Revenu Québec at 1-866-814-8392 or fill out the online form to receive one.
    2. In Sage 50, navigate to Setup > Reports & Forms > Governmental Forms > Quebec Payroll.
    3. Select "Plain-paper laser & inkjet form" on the Form Type line to ensure the 2D bar code prints on Copy 1.
    4. Go back to the main screen, click on Reports > Payroll, then Print Relevé 1 Slips.
    5. Choose the employees and filing year, and ensure you select the correct Form Type from the drop-down menu.
    6. Enter your Transmitter No., and mark the copies you need to print. If there are errors, please address them before printing.

Hope this helps! If you encounter any problems or have further questions, don't hesitate to reach out for more assistance. Our support team is available via chat too.

    Warm Regards,
    Erzsi

    Hi,

thank you but this is for an employee.  I was asking about a supplier that we issue a t4A for, there is no quebec equivalent on the supplier profile.

    Hi  ,

Apologies for the delay. Confirmed with the Sage 50 Canada support team just now that only T4As can be printed for vendors. There is no equivalent option for RL-1s., so there is no automated process for this in Sage 50.

    You may want to instead:

    1. Collect all payment information made to the Quebec vendor over the fiscal year.
    2. Prepare the information according to Revenu Québec's requirements for the RL-1 slip, which can be found on their website.

      • Note that creating manual RL-1 slips for vendors in Quebec who have T4A forms is not a standard practice because these two forms serve different purposes:
        • T4A Forms: These are generally used for reporting amounts paid to independent contractors (self-employed individuals) for services rendered. They are used across Canada, including Quebec, for federal tax purposes.

        • RL-1 Slips: These are specific to Quebec and are typically used for reporting employment income and deductions to Revenu Québec. They are the provincial equivalent of the T4 slips used for employees, not typically for vendors or contractors.

      • In Quebec, vendors or independent contractors might not necessarily receive an RL-1 slip as they are not employees. Instead, they would typically receive a T4A slip for services rendered if they meet certain criteria for reporting.

If you're dealing with Quebec vendors and are unsure about the reporting requirements, the best approach is to consult with a tax professional or contact Revenu Québec directly for advice. They can provide the most accurate information regarding which forms need to be filled out and under what circumstances. This ensures compliance with provincial and federal tax laws.

    3. If you do determine that you still require a RL-1 slips then you can manually complete one for the vendor using the guidelines provided by Revenu Québec. You can download a blank form from their site.

Unfortunately, since Sage 50 does not support RL-1 forms for vendors, these manual steps are the best alternative. Please let us know if you need more help or additional resources.

    Warm Regards,
