The Jan 2014 Payroll Updates will be ready and available some point in this week.  Once it is availabe, the silent download feature of your software will automatically downad the update to the default download location when you open your Sage 50. 

For Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\Sage Software\Simply Accounting\Download

For Windows Vista/7/8: C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Sage Software\Simply Accounting\Download

After the download is completed, when you are closing Sage 50, you are prompted for the Sage 50 Update.  If you choose Install Now, the program will close and start installing the update.

I was wondering how to Install 2014 Release update on the sever-only, where you don't run the program.

If your server is already running the 2014 connection manager, you do not need to update as the connection manager is still using V3.0.  

Just in case for some reason you need to reinstall the connection manager to the server,  you can follow the link before to download the full 2014 installer.  When you run the installation, select advance for the type of installation and then select server only.  It will then install the connection manager only but not the full software.

I Installed 2014 Release 3 update on my test-machine stand-alone single user, window 7.

The program doesn't start anymore, it would stop , .., closing...

Please right click your Sage 50 Accounting icon and run as administrator if you are using windows 7 or up.  

If not working, please disable your firewall temporarily and try to open it again as administrator.

Also, open the sample company to see if you can duplicate the issue.

If still fail, try to uninstall and reinstall your Sage 50 software.  You can download the full installer with release 3 update from the link below.
