I test it on my system 7 days before and after the actual pay date and have no problem posting it. 

Did your Payroll officer see any message pop up  when posting the entry more than 6 days?

In Alberta workers must be paid no later than 10 days after the end of pay period. In BC it is no later than 8 days after end of pay period.

NS and PE is 5 days;  SK is 6 days.  BC is specific that it is 8 calendar days, as opposed to business days.

Sorry, I should have been more clear.  I don't mean the timelines in which the employee must receive their pay - I mean the dates you input to the system.  I went ahead and ran a payroll with the proper dates - IE/ put in the correct pay period end date and the correct cheque date, which historically hadn't been done, and had ZERO issues.  I think our payroll person was blaming "user issues" on the system.  Thanks for everyone's help!
