Issues with Payroll test file and lack of customer service

So I have been having this issue with Sage - my payroll test file has been rejected by my bank 2 now here is what they say the problem is

"I just heard back from CUPS.  The test file rejected for the reason -

For Payor/ Payee Angela Kline, the Originator Short name can not be empty. The file was Rejected and written to the error file!"

Based on this, I'm guessing that the Originator Short Name has not been entered into your company's profile in the payroll software.  I just checked CAFT and this is how the short and long names are set up.
Then it goes on to show how the short and long names are set up ... The Bank, CUPS and even Sage told me that SAGE has to make this change .... as this is some thing that is done on their end ... but I dread talking to customer service - cause all they do is apologize and leave me on hold .. has this happened to any one else and how did you fix it .. Thanks in Advance

I'm afraid I'm not familiar enough with the EFT software to give you any direction.

The problem would likely be in the settings for the bank in the EFT software itself (originator code = Originator Short Name?)

    Anyone else?

It has been awhile since  I have used EFT Direct - I do remember doing single EFTs where there were 2 versions of same name entered - one was the full name and the other was a shorter version of name. Both were to be entered manually and I believe the shorter name has to be within a certain number of characters. I dealt with RBC Express and they were the one I called whenever there was a problem with files not going thru - I never called the bank itself or Sage.

What does CAFT and CUPS mean?
