You will have to exit History mode before you can do any auto-payroll (if you do subscribe to our payroll service).  You can go to History in the menu bar of the home screen and select Finish Entering History.  Then, you will be able to exit History mode.

So all of this years work that I have done is not wasted???

No, in fact, I would say you lucked out.  You were probably able to fix a lot of  mistakes and make adjustments that you would not have been able to easily do if you were out of historical mode.  Things get more difficult after you exit.
