Account Reconciliation

SUGGESTED

I get the message "No account selected" when I try to post the monthly reconciliation.

  • This usually means that your bank rec is not completely balanced.  If you have an Unresolved Amount that is not zero and the journal entry report on the Report menu is unbalanced, then you likely have not set up a default account to send any unaccounted for differences.

I always balance my unresolved to zero before posting.  You just need to find the differences and account for them.

If you are in the reconciliation module of Sage 50 and you click on the Account field(box) and there are no accounts listed in the drop-down box then the account to be reconciled has not been set to reconcile. You must go to the Company section, choose chart of accounts, select the account number you would like to reconcile, once opened select the tab Reconciliation & Deposits, check the box Save Transactions for Account Reconciliation, select the Set Up box in the bottom right-hand corner of your general ledger screen and ensure you have accounts assigned for Bank Charges, Bank Interest, etc., last click the button(box) Save and Close. This will set up the account you want to reconcile. Open your Reconciliation module and your account should be available. The next step is to set up your reconciliation with any previous month outstanding items.

    Hi Richard,

I have old items on my reconciliations. Some were from voids that were never cleared. Can you offer me direction on where in Sage I would find the steps of how to clear it out?
