Thanks for reaching out. Please review the below article. Basically, you can only set the date back as far back as the first day of the previous fiscal year, to post entries. The only way to set the start date to before July 22, 2015, is to recreate the company file.

If you've already entered clients / vendors etc, you can export the lists and re-import to the re-created company file.
- note that you cannot export / import transactions - historical data entered

SWong: If you still have History turned on then you can add these items to the data set by entering the information in the History tab. This applies for Sales Invoices, Receipts, Vendor Invoices and Payments. These entries will affect the opening balances in their respective Accounts. Loans and other Journal entries cannot be added using a date prior to the date set as the earliest transaction date. The effect of the journal entries should already be a part of the opening balances for the Accounts used in the Journal entries.
