Question

I am setting up a new company for a client. I have the Fiscal year as Aug 1 2015-july 31, 2016. I have Loans and other journal entries that need to be added for july 22 2015 to Aug 1, 2015. Im confused on how to do it. The program won't let me add those in as journal entries.

Hello , Thanks for reaching out. Please review the below article. Basically, you can only set the date back as far back as the first day of the previous fiscal year, to post entries. The only way to set the start date to before July 22, 2015, is to recreate the company file.

If you've already entered clients / vendors etc, you can export the lists and re-import to the re-created company file. - note that you cannot export / import transactions - historical data entered
